Beliefs and Values

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God.

II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

God

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and perfect.

Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14;  John 14:10, 26

Jesus Christ

He is the eternal Son of God, was 100% God, born of a Virgin, & sinless

Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; II Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8

His actions paved the way for us to have a relationship with God

Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; I Peter 2:24; Eph. 1:7; I Peter 1:3-5

Holy Spirit

He reveals to a person their need for a Relationship with God & secures all believers eternally.

John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 12:12-14; II Cor. 3:6; Eph. 1:13-14

He teaches & assists believers when dealing with Scriptures

Eph. 1:17-18; 5:18; I John 2:20, 27

He gifts specific individuals with Gifts & Talents, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers in the assembly in order that they can do the work of the ministry

Rom. 12:3-8; I Cor. 12:4-11, 28; Eph. 4:7-12

He gave specific gifts in the past that served the church temporarily.

I Cor. 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22

Man

Created in the image of God, but due to sin, became alienated from God.  On our own we cannot access God through religious experiences or rites.

Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19

Salvation

A person can only have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  The good things we do for others doesn’t get us into heaven.

Rom. 3:24; 6:23; John 3:16; 14:6; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-9; Titus 3:5

There are only 2 ingredients for a person to start a relationship with God.  Faith in Jesus Christ & repentence.

Acts 21:21; Luke 13:3; II Peter 3:9; Romans 5:1; John 3:3,36; I Cor. 6:19-20; Eph. 4:30

Second Coming of Christ

He is coming back for His Children

Ps. 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 144-11; I Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6

Heaven & Hell

Both are literal places & each person has the choice of where they choose to spend eternity.

Matt. 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13

Creation

We believe that Genesis literally & accurately describes God’s Creative Process

Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11; John 1:3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 11:3
